Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Selection Process

ICG Assistant Commandant Selection Procedure: The selection of Officer Recruits is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidate in various stages (I – V) of examination (explained in detail below) and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stage I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to biometric, photo identification and document verification during various stages of examination.

• Stage I: CGCAT (Written Exam)
• Stage II: Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)
• Stage III: Final Selection Board (FSB)
• Stage IV: Medical Examination
• Stage V: Induction

Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Exam Pattern

The conduct of a screening test for qualified applicants during Stage I will be a computer-based exam that will take place at various locations across India. Applicants applying for the positions of GD/CPL and Technical (Mechanical/Electrical & Electronics) will take the screening test.

The screening test will be administered using a multiple-choice format (MCQ), with a maximum score of 400. There will be 100 questions, with four points awarded for each correct response and one point deducted for each erroneous response. The exam will last for two hours, and the test will be administered in English. Depending on the position applied for, the candidate must pass the following exams.
